A Test of Good Speed

by Stef   Aug 28, 2005

It was a moment of weakness, or a moment of truth
It could have been a lie, or merely just proof
It could be anything you wish, but if you wish to believe
That was really just me begging you not to leave.

It was a question of honesty, a question of faith
A question of patience; how much can you take?
It was everything and more, but nothing all the same
I was just sick of letting you win at your game.

It was a test of agility, a test of good speed
A test of your judgement; what do you need?
It would have been special, it might have been great
But in the end I just wanted to have you relate.

It was a sacrifice of love, a sacrifice of hope
A sacrifice of everything; do you think you could cope?
It was all a mistake, but a mistake made purposely
Maybe I thought that in the end you’d belong to me.

It was a my moment of weakness, or maybe just truth
You tested your strength; I questioned my proof
I sacrificed it all, but it’s still hard to conceive
That even after all this, it was the moment you’d leave.
