I dream. i wish. i hope. i pray

i once was lost in sadness and tears
in anger and hatred, and ones greatest fears
to live all your life and never give up
straining and hoping to find one true love
and then your world shatters and all your hopes die
it leaves you with failure, heartaches, and lies
I'm saddened to say that this was once me
before i looked past the obvious, and what is easily seen
the pain and betrayals are only a memory
of the long fought depression i shall forever leave behind me
i realize now how precious life is
a gift from god, a privilege to live
the love of my life stands right there in front of me
my job is to see him in more than just seeing
to find him and hold him
in more than just touching
i love him more than life itself
and he loves me more than life himself
all is true and i know this because
he holds the key to my heart, my only true love
so i dream, i wish, i hope, i pray
to wake up again to god's granted day
and take more than steps on my life's journey
but look deep within and meet its destiny
