The Day I Almost Lost You!

by *tanya*   Aug 30, 2005

I could never forget if I tried,
no matter what I do.
Permanently imprinted in my heart,
is the day I almost lost you.

With your words my heart was torn,
from my chest and rendered idle.
In a moment I changed from being happy,
to instantly suicidal.

The air rushed out of my lungs,
all blood left my veins.
I was dead, wounded,
my soul was truly slain.

Crimson tears were spilt,
I cried to no end.
Let me rip your f.ucking heart out,
and ask if we can still be friends.

To never feel your kiss again,
well, death was a better choice.
"I'm sorry, I still love you,"
was your voice.

Losing you was equivalent to death,
for you are my whole life.
My tears dried as I realised,
at home awaited my knife.

Though dead inside,
soon I would be outside as well.
For in ruin I would find you,
and in life awaited my hell.

But suddenly you called me,
"I'm so sorry, I made a mistake.
Take me back, I love you,"
You said you'd cure my ache.

Slowly you pieced my heart back together,
and my soul was replaced.
Though I have my life back now,
the hurt will never be erased.

Now we are mending,
and we are stronger for our pain.
They say the rainbow always comes,
right before the rain.

I love you babe, don't leave me,
I wouldn't last a night.
I need your wings to carry me,
and your arms to hold me tight.

I could never forget if I tried,
no matter what I do.
Permanently imprinted in my heart,
is the day I almost lost you!
