I used to be like you...

by MisterScabbedWings   Sep 1, 2005

I used to be like you
I promise, this is true
A little boy, very young
Acting dumb, having fun

Still going to school
On the bus, acting cool
Pointing at people all the time
I was content cause I was fine

Anything, I couldn't care
Out the window of the bus I would stare
People with jobs or without
I would make fun and shout

Now grown up, without a job
Days and days I've sobbed
I should've planned my days to come
Too late now, I'm the bum

I used to be like you
At least now you know what to do
Think about your future days,
And you'll go better ways...

This is for the people who never take their future seriously. I hadn't even looked at one university and all my friends have already been accepted. I'm doing fine, but I just wanted the people to realise how important such things can be.

This was a wonderful poem! I loved the whole thing because it sorta described me. I used to be someoen who made fun of someone, but totally changed, and have also been looking at univerities in only the 9th grade. I'm glad to know your doing good although you don't attend college?..Wonderful job!

I feel ya...sometime sthings like that happen, but I'm sure evrything will be fine and some day you will wake up and decide to go to a university! If you need a push "I will help you" lol. Take care and remember that destiny's what we make it, so if you see an opportunity you better take it!
