Stuck in the middle of nowhere

A cry for help
no-one can hear
those desperate eyes
seeking comfort in every new year

she wants to tell
to talk and share
she wants to find someone to be with
to believe in and to belong

but she trusts no-one
that's the hard part
who can she divulge
and know her secret won't leak out

though she puts on a fake smile all the time
it looks genuine enough
to help bluff her way away
from the people who dont really know

many people she calls "friend"
not one of them she truly feels for
it's as though she's in a crowd
yet stuck in the middle of nowhere
