The rain

by sock   Oct 1, 2005

Droplets coming down from nowhere
falling from the sky
unto the concrete earth
gently coming down in torrents

barely visible
it slid along the sides
its tempo increased
as it licked the lines of weaknesses

holding the building like a lover's embrace
it engulfed the place whole
light yet passionate
never going past the line to thunderstorm

then it thinned into a musky drizzle
tender and bittersweet
the rain ended
only to start some other time again
