when so many went away
words of comfort we could not say
and victims families could only pray

little kids went out to play
parents left for work without delay
never knowing our country was to be betrayed

a terrorist attack was on the way
the towers began to sway
a blue sky turned dark gray

Americans swore bin laden would pay
lady liberty stared from the bay
