Prove me wrong

by ThugPoet   Sep 12, 2005

I speak more Truth then ministers, so I'm dodging my death,
writing marathons exposing fake shit,
so I'm holding my breath,
exasperating my intellect through words you probably never heard,
finding loop wholes & defects with theological rhetoric, and I wouldn't be the first,
what do we deserve, calling on God when we get a taste of His wrath?
its idiotic, like going para sailing but naked, sitting in a raft,
do the math, most things tend not to add up,
government cocaine cooked up in the streets to keep our mothers cracked up,
thats how we're oppressed, because we live life for material pleasure,
lusting after our desires, not striving to make our selves better,
we never read, we listen to R&B or heavy metal,
it doesn't matter, because it seems that music is the speech of the devil,

Lets prove me wrong, lets change, I don't want to be right,
weather you're red, brown, yellow, you're black or you're white,
whether you fallow Moses, Mohammad or Jesus Christ,
they were all men of righteousness, who knew the value of life,
lets begin to respect our women, and teach them respect for themselves,
absorb some knowledge, blow the dust off of our book shelves,
replace every gun with a book, every "spliff" with a pen,
every child support cheque with a father, every enemy with a friend,
see my bones will become dust, but my words will penetrate till time ends,
and by then, I hope I'm proven wrong, again and again.

Thank you.

Thuggy you are a terrific writer and I really admire that about you..This poem is exactly how I feel..it's sad that the younger generation sees this and feels this way...you'd think that'd be a wake up call for America and for other nations that we should change because it really is affecting people....Wonderful write Thuggy I really loved this peice!!
