This Little Girl

by >> Beautifully Mistaken   Sep 13, 2005

Once upon a time,
lived a girl of five,
each day was a fight,
just to stay alive.

He stumbles home drunk,
late one night,
this little girl knows,
that shes in for a fight.

His eyes were filled with anger,
as he threw his little girl to the floor,
she did not dare to move as tears streamed down her face,
she silently wished for no more.

She came to school the next day,
all beaten and torn,
everyone was staring and pointing,
wondering what had gone on.

Not a single person dared to ask,
what happened that night,
she just sat their and smiled,
making everyone think she was alright.

A single tear fell from this little girl's eye,
it fell on her cheek,
she quickly wiped it away,
she did not want to look weak.

She arrived home from school,
and saw daddy was not around,
she sat in her room crying,
trying not to make a sound.

Her daddy came home,
madder than he had ever been,
the teacher called him today,
she didn't like what she had seen.

He came into her room,
and threw his little girl against the wall,
anger had overtaken him,
but then he realised that his little girl wasn't moving at all.

She had suffered in silence,
but it was that night,
that this little girl,
lost her fight.
