A Dream

Have you ever had a dream?
A dream you just wanted to flee from?
A Dream that terrified you
That it brought you to tears?

You attempt to open your eyes
But you keep on seeing
Telling yourself to wake up
But you are stuck there dreaming

You moving helplessly in your bed
Crying horribly in your dream
Huddled in a corner
In a place you cannot see

The things you fear the most
Dance and chant around your corps
You want to wake up
But you know it is just a hoax

You get to your feet
And you run to get free
The things that terrified you so
Chase you like the Devil just spoke

Horrid laughter coming from behind
You mind is loosing all sense of time
You run and run
But you see you are stuck in time

When you begin to lose this fight
You hear the clock sound 2
Your eyes open wide
And sweat drips down your sides

It was only a dream
And what a horrid dream it was
You lay in your bed
Happy that you woke from it

You stare at the ceiling
Afraid to go back to sleep
You hear something in the air
Something is sitting in the chair

You get on your feet
Maybe it is mommy unable to sleep
You can hear the floor creep
But there is blood on your feet

You heart starts to race
Scared of what is to wait
You grab the chair
Your fngers entwinded in hair

Who is this?
Can you not see?
That was not just a dream
Because this person
is me.
