Just a dime

by Sakura Kimiko   Sep 16, 2005

Young little girl
wandering the streets
tugging at their cloths
with those small smoke covered hands
asking sweetly for just a dime
her cloths tattered and mud-stained
but she only asks for that dime
that simple piece of silver
that couldn't buy a stone
her tooth ridden smile
glowing through the black
she has no one
has nothing
but that tear streaked face
and the little stains
how can one reject that face?
how can they just watch her suffer?
how do they pass her by?
how?
why do they not help?
is a dime so much?
would it kill you?
to help another soul?
I say to you now
I watched that girl
day in and out
not one person helped
not one lifted a finger
had you known that girl
was homeless and dieing
would you have done the same?

Wow.. that poem was really true, most people don't do anything, most think that there just going to use the money on beer or drugs, but for a little girl, people really should think, if i was there and that really happen I would help her, give her as much money as I could give, and yes I am one of those people that when i see somebody who looks like they really need money I give what little of my allowence that I have (yes I don't think i spelled that right) But great poem, great subject, you did an awesome job, 5/5
