Whatever happened between us?

Breeding self-doubt,

If only you knew the consequences of nonchalance!
The regret is unbearable.
Why was I so timid?
Never asking what I really wanted to,
Never attempting something crazy or romantic,
All so I might never lose you, if only as a friend.
