Long-Distance Lover

by David   Dec 16, 2005

Miles apart
but in mind, one
For now content
to share simple fun

But thirst is not quenched
by small sips, time to time
some time I must gulp
that sweet love pour'd divine

I measure our parting
not in weeks, days; not time
but in thoughts of your glimmer
the fine source of my rhyme

Everywhere, people
share their flesh, hand in hand
Why can't our embrace
span the gap 'cross the land?

I cannot breathe
but of your sweat breath
What will come next?
Suffocation? Death?

My evey burn
you they desire
smiling face
put out the fire

That's it
I will call
939-
I recall
