Beautiful

by Simon Hayes   Sep 22, 2005

Beautiful is what it can be
Calming as a Mediterranean sea
Flowing softly to the sand
Like melting butter from my hand

Beautiful is the summer sun
Gently lifting everyone
With colourful trees and sunlit skies
Cheering up all passer-bys

Beautiful shows the world today
The way we should learn to live and play
The way we all should understand
This world is in such gracious hands

Beautiful attracts us all
Shows us how we stand so tall
So mighty and yet so common place
We all admire a lovely face

Beautiful is for everyone
No matter how small, how old, or young
No matter what life throws at us
Beautiful does not exist in lust

Beautiful includes everlasting love
Angels sent from high above
Corney sounding romantic words
Meaning something to those who heard

Beautiful is the winter sky
Blue and cold like a watery eye
Softly rapping up in need
For better or worse, would exist no greed

Beautiful is different to all that know
That love is more than an arrow from a bow
That love continues throughout your life
No matter, who, why or how much strife

Beautiful has no ending
No final understanding
Beautiful is through better or worse
Beautiful is a love curse!

I really enjoyed this poem, the seventh stanza ( as mentioned by sarah) was by far my fave. It was just beautifully written and fit in so well. The depiction of beautiful was just that, beautiful. Very well written!
