The Final Chapter

by JP   Nov 28, 2003

Shadows lurk at every corner, enveloping the world with its unsatiable hunger.
The coolness of its touch tracing through our veins.
It's then that we feel it -

The warmth of life giving away to the discernable grasp of evening's ward.
A shiver escapes from our lips and the realization is soon upon us.
The sands of time have long passed and the inevitable is so strikingly clear.
The panic that monopolizes our thoughts soon surrenders to the calm of acceptance,
and the last moments of anxiety drift away.
