The Uncertainty of New Love

by Jonathan LeBrun   Sep 26, 2005

Sit and talk with me awhile,
After cakes and coffee.
Let us reminisce of times worthwhile,
Of moments spent in reverie.

And after the music, after the dance;
After all the midnight magic
Full of sweet romance,
Is it love, or is it tragic?

Together, will we pass on from youth,
And sailing through the years
Will we remember the truth,
That love can overcome all fears?

Or, as lovers on the morn, will we part;
And with a single memory take leave?
Afraid perchance of any start,
Afraid yet, to conceive
What may possibly remain,
If we would not refrain.

And in the fleeting hours of our days,
Will we be happy with the choices we have made?

And in truth, will it all matter,
If in the hallways of the mind
We hear the faint, pitter-patter
Of faded dreams we left behind?

Worry not for future choices,
Or the things that may be at stake;
In the heart there are the voices
That will decide the paths we take.

Life was not meant to worry,
Nor to live it in a hurry!

Then you ask if I am all right!
With a smile, I nod and answer,
I am perfectly well tonight,
Je t'aime c'est toute; c'est cri du mon couer!
