Bedtime

by Kelley   Sep 26, 2005

Night time approaches my bed time is near,
I stand by my Dad and he senses my fear, he says
to me boy why do you fear, I tried to look brave
and said I am not afraid Dad and stuck out my chin,
Dad lets out a laugh and tussles my hair and says
OK boy bedtime is here, So I pull up my courage and
run to my room I slowly open my door and look into
the dark room trying to see those monsters inside,
I sum up my courage and run toward my bed with a great
leap I jump through the air and land on my bed my
heart pumping with fear I pause for a moment to listen
real close and I strain my eyes trying to spot the ghost
I hear not a thing nor see not a ghost but then I catch
a glimpse by the bottom of my bed post I get so afraid I
let out a scream, Dad runs in an turns on the light I am under
my covers shaking with freight he say boy what's wrong why did
you scream I peeked out from the blankets and into the light
and look toward my bed post and there near the floor is my own
Pj's lying crumpled on the floor I feel so embarrassed that
I almost cry.
