If I

by Johnny Mac   Sep 30, 2005

If I were a painter
I'd paint you blue
Quiet and alone in your little room
A girl with nothing and nothing to lose
If I were a painter
I'd paint you blue

If I were a singer
I'd sing you a tune
A perfect sonnet for a girl so blue
A beautiful song for a heart so true
If I were a singer
I'd sing you your tune

If I were a story
I'd love you in every chapter
If I were a story
I'd be your happily ever after

If I were anything more than your reflection
I wouldn't be your worst deception
If I were anything more than worries and fears
I'd be the swing of a swift axe to shatter these mirrors
