Pushing Him

by CareBear   Oct 3, 2005

Push him, go on
Push him further and further
Don't you understand that what you're doing hurts him
He loves you
You're supposed to love him so why do you hurt him over and over
Keep telling him what to do, I dare you
You're going to lose him sooner or later
Let go of him
Why dont you let him run his own life
Instead you push him away
Don't tell him he's a failure
Let him be good enough
Why have your expectations so high
He just doesn't know what to do anymore
Rejected by his own father
Trying to do what is right
Don't you understand he wants to run his own life
Stop pushing him
Please stop hurting him
If you don't you know what will happen
You know you're going to lose him
Do you want him to feel worthless
Do you want him to let go
He hates it when you push him
Just to let you know
Every night there's a fight about how he should be doing this
Or should be doing that
He's not what you want him to be
Is he?
You know now that he can see that too
He's not good enough for you
Is he?
And he never will be, will he?
He can make his own choices now
He's not a little child
He knows what he wants and what is best to get that
Couldn't you just be proud of him
Couldn't you just let him know
You love him?
Then act upon the words
He loves you
But what is he supposed to do
With the expectations so high
And you pushing him to go further than he can
I don't understand
And neither do you
Just think about it and you'll see you're going to push him too far and he'll never come back.
