City Lights

by Rusted x Heart   Oct 3, 2005

I'll whisper to you in silence,
All that my eyes, they left unsaid.
I'll hold you close towards my heart
So between us, beats one instead.

With no loneliness between us,
Breathe in this moment, we both sigh.
I'm trying to find the kiss to say
That one last, eternal goodbye.

Just one last goodnight touch I'll leave
Upon your bittersweet, sweet skin,
As I surpress this lonesome tear
Whom I encarcerate within.

So sweet dreams to you my only,
I had once wished you'd dream of me.
But like this tear I take it back,
If all I bring is misery.

As the city lights blend into
This one nostalgic deep blue sky,
Your breath, it is my leaving song
As I kiss you this last goodbye.

Okay, I admit it. I'm hooked on your writing now. The way the words come out, not forced, wield their way into my heart.

Have you noticed so many people love ur last stanza of each poem? you finish on such a strong note with all your poems. through out the poems i have read by you, you continue to show an extensive vocabluary. it makes it that much eaiser to really connect with. this poem was not as abstract so some of your others. the whole poem ahs a dreamy feel to it that is very nice. this one is also a bit easier to read then some of your others. one of your best.

It has nice almost soft read to it. Imagery is not used enough in this type of poem usually so I enjoyed yours even more as it contained just enough. Loved reading it.

    Another amazing poem!
    My favorite stanza was,

"As the city lights blend into
This one nostalgic deep blue sky,
Your breath, it is my leaving song
As I kiss you this last goodbye."

Great ending, it really painted a lovely picture. I love your work, good job!
