Rare

When everything is odd and strange
and I feel out of place
like I've fallen for all of my life
and I'm finally lost in space

when the stars blur in my mind
with the night sky serpentine
I know I've lost my way
my sanity is not mine

the earth lifting from my feet
flying deeper into the street
I know I'm not alright
as I sink through the concrete

drifting into open eyes
my alarm clock starts to scream
blankets wrapped around my body,
maybe it was only a dream
