Shadows

by justin   Oct 5, 2005

We live each day in the shadow of others
Hoping to be like our older brothers.
We imitate them until they do something wrong.
Then we realize if we copy their errors, we won't live long.
We try our best to make a change,
But we do it all in vain.
We started down the same path.
Now we're stuck facing similar wraths.
Our brothers watch in silence from the sidelines
Hoping we'll be able to make our own guidelines.
They want to help out but can't.
So they just tell you to be your own man.
They can do nothing to help you.
You begin to think you're screwed.
They begin to weep as you start to fail.
You give up hope, believing your ship has sailed.
Suddenly, from out of nowhere comes a friend
To tell you your ship has come again.
With hope renewed and your friend by your side,
You set sail with a new found pride.

It sucks. I know. It only took 5 minutes to write it.

A good poem :). The ideas good but could perhaps be worded better. Keep your head up, if you ever want to talk to anyone about anything feel free to send me a message, and I'll reply as soon as I can :). Keep pushing through.

Great poem...that's what life is all about. there'll always be things that get you down. but try hard and you'll find that they won't stop you from succeeding in whatever you want.
