Symbol Of

by eternitySOlong   Oct 6, 2005

White like the innocence of a dove
Red like the blood-shed of our love
Roses in water trying to live
Dying from the pain that just won't give
Crystal vases hold the crystal lies
Shallow water reflects the shallow eyes
Cracks in the glass bleeds crimson tears
The flowers cry but no one hears
Roses show an elapse of time
Playing the life that was always mine
Born to be a statue, only meant to die
Living life drowning, never able to fly
Sharpened thorns slice the porcelin skin
Poisoning what once was a precious sin
Crimson rivers flush out painful lies
Killing so silently, the rose slowly dies
Withered petals easily fall away
What once was pink, now becomes gray
A tired soul sleeps now in a bed of dead promises and swears
Who once fell for an angel that spoke of true hopes and cares
Lay now the dry roses in their final resting place
Set for eternity in an urn wrapped in red lace
