Shedding Immortality

by Whispering*Willow(Mercedes)   Oct 8, 2005

Cold, lonely ember
Died out suddenly
Alone without illumination
Remembering what I don't want to remember.

I can't feel the spring coming
(The cycle of new life)
I'm still dead without you
Winter was so white and numbing

I was enervated
The wait for a new day broke me
Falling out of my sturdy grip
Like they had anticipated

No goodbyes this time(for me)
The dark burnt through my soul
Giving up what I didn't want to give
Shedding immortality.
