I fell for you
Like most people do
When they see your softer side
The way your eyes glinted
And the way people mentioned
Your love for me was hard to hide

I wasn't sure
That you really loved me
For no one even knew
But I was persuaded
That you love never died
By a certain friend that you cued

Then one day
When I nearly gave up
You came to me and said
"Will you go out with me?"
And I said a shaky yes
So happy you went ahead

I was on cloud nine
For the next three days
And we fell more in love-as you do
And when they laughed at us
You just lovingly said
"As long as I'm beside you"

The taunting stopped
And we went away
And I felt so lost inside
I wanted to see
You beside me
But it felt like you wanted to hide

I was going away
And I felt so down
That I didn't see your face
I send you texts
But something was odd -
Something was out of place

I called you up
To talk to you
But there really was no use
I organised things
So I could see you
But there was always an excuse

Then the day
Before I went left
You sent me a text to say
"Soz Hun
But you're not the one
I just don't love you that way"

I was in denial
And I said I was fine
But my heart started to break
I felt so used
And you didn't care
This was more than a girl could take

You toyed with my emotions
You messed up my head
You used me and through me away
But I realised one thing
That I'm a tough girl
