I Miss You, Meagan

by Liquid Dreams   Oct 12, 2005

Wonder what happened
To the lives that we knew
We were best friends
The six of us - mostly me and you

I know times are changing
And we have new friends
I know we've drifted apart
But does that mean our friendship has to end?

I was thinking today
And I miss you a lot
We told each other everything
It seems like we forgot

Everything we told each other
The things the other knew
We knew each other's darkest secrets
And to this day we still do

Though both of us could deny it
We could just walk away
But I've seen the looks of hurt
It's like betrayal is on display

Your deep secrets that you have told me
I will never tell
Although I know you think I do
I promise I never will; it's all safe and well

We did so much stuff together
We were by each other's side
Forever and for always
Were the rules to which we would abide

We had our little book
That told all of our thoughts
Our best friends book
But it's like we let that rot

I don't want to take you away
From your new friends and life
But I want to be close again
I want to help you through your strife

I miss everything about it
Our recordings, inside jokes, and all we did
When the six of us were friends
Everything was perfect - nothing forbid

But a lot of stuff has happened
And a lot of stuff has changed
Things switched around
And a lot of things rearranged

It has torn my heart apart
And I know it has torn yours
I never have wanted to hurt you
But now it's like a bunch of wars

I want you to know
That I am truly sorry
For whatever I have done
For whatever may the scars be

I wish we were still close
And that we still did things together
But even if we never do again
I'll remember you forever

That's really sweet, but it's sad. I hate it when people change, along with the friendships they're in. I used to be friends with so many people that I'm not with now. It's crazy how things go. I hope that somehow ya'll can mend this relationship. Keep writing and take care.
