Lay me down

by Ruby   Oct 12, 2005

Take me to the end and lead me into darkness.
Bring calm and serenity.
Lay me down and cover me in roses.
Let them draw life from me.
Grow tall, beautiful, admired by many.
Lay me down and throw corn above.
Harvest and give to many.
Feeding those unfortunate ones.
Unlucky ones without food
Fresh and newly grown.
Lay me down and cover me in grass.
So that many may sit.
And lovers may be at peace.
Let me bring tranquility
To those who deserve it.
Lay me down
And do not dream of yesterday.
Pick my roses,
Eat my corn,
And sit upon my grass.
Admire what I have created,
And what I have become.
Remember me for who I was
