Day of Sorrows

by Elina   Oct 14, 2005

It finally has happened
The reality is here
The U.S. under attack
One of our worst fears

It was a regular morning
Most had started off their day
I was still in bed though
But in bed I couldn't stay

As I got to second period
There was talk around the class
That a plane had struck the trade center
It hit rough and very fast

As my teacher overheard this
She turned on the T.V.
To watch the second plane hit north tower
It was hard to watch for me

New York was not the only one
D.C. also had bad luck
And flight 93
Went down before it struck

America became vulnerable
We were not as strong as we had thought
We were attacked on our own soil
There were many answers that were sought

We said goodbye to many
Yet many heroes we have met
9/11 is the one day
That we cannot forget
