That pretty girl

by ShadowDancer   Oct 14, 2005

There is always a pretty girl
At every school
But this one is different
You all think you know her

but...

What if I was to tell you
That her perfect pretty face
Is nothing more then a mask?

What if I was to tell you
That under those big blue eyes
Are bruise coloured rings
Hidden by lying make up

What if I was to tell you
That under that fashionable top
Is a heart that aches
From the misuse it has felt

What if I was to tell you
That under her happy laugh
Is the sound of her unhappiness
A silent scream no one can hear

What if I was to tell you
That under that expensive bracelet
Are the scars of a desperate girl
Searching for a way to escape

What if I was to tell you
That although you must
Think you know this girl
None of you do

None of you at all

I wanted to say thanks, and that this poem is excellent. its very rare that you find a poem that doesn't rhyme, and is still amazingly wonderful!

I can really relate to this one.
I love it how you define everything into a simple way that's easy to understand.
