Anthony, All Alone

by Anthony   Oct 15, 2005

The power of the words,
The rhythm of the rhyme,
The best thing to happen,
At the very worst time.

These conflicting emotions,
That get in my way,
Tired of the line,
"It's always best to pray"

But every time I do,
Theres no one on the other end.
I'm stuck here all alone,
When all I needed was a friend.

Send me a sign,
Make me a deal,
Make believe the sympathy
You show is really real.

Sing me a song,
Write me a ballad,
Paint me a mural in,
This world of outright pallid.

You've made me what I am
And what I am is blank as stone.
Forever I'm destined to be
Anthony, All alone...

What do you mean you're all alone? Am I not a good enough friend?!

I'm kidding, aside from the carpp title, I absolutely heart the poem. =P
