The Breeze and I (Rictameter)

by Drew Gold   Oct 16, 2005

Shaking
and shivering,
i heard the sticks and leaves -
their crumbling sound of desertion -
as you slipped between the trees and faded.
like a tired sigh; all at once
the breeze lifted itself
we stood alone,
shaking

Rictameter:
A rictameter is a nine line poetry form. The 1st and the last lines are the same and the syllable count is as follows: -

Line 1 - 2 syllables - same as line 9
Line 2 - 4 syllables
Line 3 - 6 syllables
Line 4 - 8 syllables
Line 5 - 10 syllables
Line 6 - 8 syllables
Line 7 - 6 syllables
Line 8 - 4 syllables
Line 9 - 2 syllables - same as line 1

this is definitely one i'd like your interpretations on, whatever they may be.. thanks for reading..

It's an amazing write. However I think broken would make the whole poem stand out more. But overall it's still a 5/5.. xx:
