Heart Alone

by EpithetPoet   Oct 19, 2005

It's hard to be thrusted into light
When you're predisposed to dark
The twitter of doves stings your ears
When you're used to the call of the lark

Blessed be the day
When your demons slink away
And your fire turns to ash

Marked be the moment
When your fears birth a sonnet
And the pain flits with a flash

The loving touch you urge to find
Forms blisters under your skin
But the night is dim my dear friend
And your life is but a trifling sin

Blessed be the day
When your tears flow away
And your skin turns to stone

Marked be the moment
When love be the subject
But your heart rests alone

Goodness, I love this. I just can't describe it. You contrast the old + new emotions so well. Eg: first two lines.

The endless peril of solitude ... the befitting ending to the twitter of doves stringing at ones ears...

My how you continue to grow and become ever more inspring and thought prevocking. It isnt that your poetry is offensive - it is that it shows you, it reminds. It brings reality to words.

    Awesome.
