First impressions

A mirror reveals a lot to your self,
All the parts of life that youve been dealt,
I am still dawned by the concept of racism,
I'm still god fearing spending my life praising him.

When you look at me you see a statistic,
Condescending thoughts run through your mind quick,
I'm still the boy abandoned by his father,
I'm still gonna show my mettle never a martyr.

I'll never live up to the greatness of like Socrates,
I can only live up to the man that is me
I'm still the boy repressing memories of my mother crying,
I'm still the boy scared of my father dying.

I probably have a bigger chance of failing,
Alcohols, drugs, and smoke there for the aiding
I judge myself by what I see everyday,
I can judge my own cover is what ill say.

I see the man who puts his all into love,
Destiny soon revealing herself from above,
I'm the man who wont give up on me and you,
I'm the man who knows this much is true.

I'm gonna be this man one day still a boy,
Still fragile don't treat my heart like a toy,
Imma be that man one day till I die,
This is what I need you to see when I say hi.
