A Vampires Hunger

It beats at me like a drum
Telling me to succumb
To the call
Wanting me to fall
The monster rages inside
Wanting me to abide
It wants to be set free
So it can take over me
I hear a sound in the night
Making it hard for me to fight
It's strong and pure
I know it's the only cure
To keep the monster at bay
At least for another day
I drift toward the sound
My feet barley touch the ground
As I get closer
My heart beats faster
The time's drawing close
I know the monster knows
To see the fear in my victims eyes
To hear their pleas and their cries
Their struggles to break free
Lets the monster take over me
When hear their heart stop
I let their body drop
I don't feel sad
In fact I feel glad
For the monster's at bay
At least for another day
