Empty Vessel

Empty Vessel

An empty vessel
Lost at sea
Waves pounding
Crushing her dignity

Drowning in sorrow
Not wanting to breathe
Never yearning to be rescued
Death is her dream

Unable to see
Life's little treasures
Standing beneath her feet
Whispering silently
"Mommy, please"

An empty vessel
Emotions unseen
No one to hear her cry
No one to save her life
An empty vessel
Remains lost at sea
