Closing Ceremonies

The lights of forever
Flicker through our last goodbye.

Is this the end?
Is life as we know it,
Gone?

The faces,
They glow.
Decorated with falling tears.
Waiting in the dark
For that perfect single moment
Of last peace.

Candles fight for their life
Holding out until the dearest goodbyes
Are said.

It seems like a lifetime
To fight for the light
Never letting go
Holding to do that which
We hold the closest to our hearts.

Shed a single tear,
And rid the light of its eternal fight.

Cry but once,
And know what life truly means.
Understand what simple pleasures make life
Worth waiting for.

Falling through the silence,
The fight is done.
Darkness.

Where does life lead
When the paths are gone?

What happens when everything
Good in this world
Is ended?
