Deceit of Love

by EpithetPoet   Oct 25, 2005

Thy love is running course
Its rapids become too strong
It's dragging you to its inner depths
Where you knew you always belonged

Time has taken its toll
And it shows on your pretty face
Where the blood you chose to keep
Forms spidery tendrils as lace

Your honour has been dulled
Through ages of lies and deceit
And as you sit upon the lives you killed
It is the truth that is what you seek

While your love seems to be boundless
You truly know there is no cure
For it is time that makes you falter
And love itself which makes you unsure

What an elegant piece. Really the imagery came at me very well. No problem feeling your message - very clear.

Love, Time, & Honour. They come with age, I suppose and hope. Who knows why burdens like love has to come out way...

In any case, fantastic piece. I really feel your anxiety in this one.
