A Sonnet For Giulia

by Anthony   Oct 26, 2005

*A sonnet is A fourteen line poem in abab/cdcd/efef/gg form.

With love, you do steal my heart from its cage,
And make my blood flow warmer than the sun.
And thus you curb my fury and my rage,
You synchronize our hearts that beat as one.
Our candle burns with bright intensity,
Let not a soul come separate our flame.
Thou art my love O thou art my lady,
So different and yet we are the same.
If love be blind, then I wish not to see;
I would trust thee, Giulia, with mine eyes.
What we are to you, shall be so for me;
The two of us for the rest of our lives.
Our connection lasting from near or far,
My lover is perfect, just as you are.

This sonnet was written as a part of writing a one act Shakespearean play for Drama class. I thought I would share it. ^_^ It is written in Iambic Pentameter (10 syllables per line)
