Starlight, star bright,
I want to make a wish tonight
But first I need to decided on what
For this wish has to be special, one not to be forgot,
I could wish for true love
And all the romance on the earth
But would that be wise,
Exactly what is that worth?
I could wish for all the stars in the sky
With each flicker, they would belong to me
But then again the sky would turn to black
No brightness would I see
So moving on, I could wish for a pet
A playful, pet I'd never forget
But along with that would come responsibility
Something I have not yet learned
So cancel that wish, it would just end up wrong, and most likely in the dirt
So what do I wish for, after all this time?
What do I really need?
I really wish you were by my side,
I wish not for money or greed.
But simply the fact that you were never ill
The fact that you passed away
I wish you were right here with me
To stand by me every single day
I wish to go back in time,
And find a cure for you
Because with every thought, every move I make
Sadness takes over
And runs through and through
Yes that is my wish, I know what now
I am going to wish that you take me to
Take me to live forever in heaven, up there to live with you.
