Another Lost Soul

by Chantelle   Nov 1, 2005

You told me I would make it
If I kept on holding on
You told me I could take it
If I tried to stay strong
What you didn't tell me is what you knew all along
I wouldn't make it and I couldn't stay strong
You knew the traumas were too hard to bear
I was just a child who shed one too many tears
The fighting and screaming still echoes through my mind
Why did everything you do have to be so unkind
Everything we went through finally got to me
Where there was no escape that I could see
Everything turned into a dark swirling mixture
Where faces were just distorted pictures
Because of your lies I became a ghost
And the strange thing is, I still miss you the most
But I can no longer believe you
because you gave me false hope
then watched me fall
because I could not cope
You didn't pick me up when I was down
Because my crying and pleading were a mute sound
Now nobody can hear me, you think I have passed
But I'm just a lost soul
and I bet not the last.
