An unfair trade

by ShadowDancer   Nov 2, 2005

I was sinking
Drowning
In blackness
In emptiness
Then a hand
Your hand
Reached down and grasped mine

You pulled me out
And gave me new breath
A new life
You dried all my tears

But when your turn came
When you were there
Sinking
Drowning
I gave you my hand
And you pushed it away

You wanted to sink
You wanted to drown
You didn't care
That you left me here
Alone

Why did you leave?
Why couldn't I help?
I wish I could join you
But I no longer want
To sink
To drown

You gave me a new life
But it didn't save you
