I know I hurt you,
I know you cried.
It just did not quite fit,
no matter how hard we tried.

I can still remember,
what went through my mind
and all of the words
I struggled to find.

The deed is done,
I can not go back, though.
Even knowing how much
I had hurt you so.

But I'm glad to see
that you have moved on,
aside from all the hurt,
how far you have gone.

It does my heart well,
to know that you're fine,
despite the fact
that you were once mine.

I am glad to see that
you hold your head high,
and I am glad that I'm not told
about how you cry.

But it is not about me,
it is about you,
and how you can
do all that you do.

Well, what I am saying is
I am glad you are over me,
you haven't lost a beat,
and, this, I'm glad to see.
