Painted Smile

You see me everyday
you look at me and see me smile
but what you can't see
is that this smile on my face
is just a fake
inside i'm not truly happy

Everyday i paint that same smile
upon my face
in hopes you wont see
that i think of myself
as nothing more than a disgrace

when i do things to hurt myself
it's not a cry for attention
it's my way of releasing the pain

if you could only understand
that every scar on my skin
is much more than a simple sin

Each one tells a story
of a broken down girl
who thinks no one is there for her
deep down in her heart she knows
that someone will dry her tears

but in that moment when seizes the blade
she forgets about that someone
because that someone is not there
she doesn't know where to turn

i know this sucks but i whipped it up in 10 or 15 minutes if you have any advice on how to "improve" it if you will i would greatly appreciate anything you have to say positive or negative
