Rain

As I try to fall asleep
I think about everything around me
All of a sudden, I hear the sound of the rain
And to listen to the soothing sound makes all my troubles disappear
And all the things i love are drawn near
I think of all the good times
And all the bad
At some points I'm happy
Others, I'm sad
As I listen to the rain, I hear a beat
It soothes my mind, my heart my soul
Everything around me just doesn't matter
Just for that long moment listening to the rain's pitter-patter
My eyes finally close, and I have a smile on my face
I forgot about all my pain
Just because I took the time to listen to the rain
