Friends for Life

by Lexie   Nov 9, 2005

Years ago, we used to be those friends,
The ones who are always there for each other.
But our lives went different ways in the journey of life,
We just became memories to one another.

After years of no contact, our paths crossed again.
It was then that I realized you're a friend for life,
A friend that will be there forever, a friend
That I can always count on.

It is often when a friendship grows apart,
That neither friend gives it a second thought.
They go on with their own lives, forgetting
About the friendship they are leaving behind.

Many friendships in a lifetime end this way,
Even the best of friends lose contact over the years.
But the true friends realize what they've lost,
And they come back to find each other.
I'm glad that I found you.
