Wings

I stayed up last night thinking about some things.
And I started to compare a ”family”, to a set of “wings”.
Can birds fly without their set?
Damn, just how low can a ”family” get?
To break apart over one’s mistake.
You act like this step, you’d never take.
Cuz the truth is we all make them, just in our own way.
And breaking apart, is the price we pay?
That’s just immature, how can one stoop so low?
Thought a ”family”, was supposed to grow?
Without “wings”, do you think the birds could fly?
They need support, to get them high.
Without its “wings”, a plane would crash and burn.
So if not our ”family”, then to whom can we turn?
This is crazy, our “family” was never really strong.
We thought we were, but boy were we wrong.
If anything, something like this should make us come together.
We should show support and love for one-another.
Not ignoring everyone and hiding behind the phone.
And certainly not using nasty languages with nasty tones.
No matter what we do, we’re “family” through thick and thin.
Whether we like it or not, we’re in it whether we lose or we win.
This is just stupid, everyone’s acting immature.
Calling everyone names, when they know they could be more.
I can’t believe we’re acting like this, we’re not children anymore.
We can’t let our love slip and we can’t push “family” members out the door.
I can’t believe it was this easy, to break this “family” up.
I guess we just acted like we were close, what else did we make up?
Know what, f**k “family”, there was never a such thing.
Our “family” is now broken apart, and the sad angel just lost its “wings”.

“We don’t talk to dads side of the ”family”, but whateva, that’s fine. But never did I think something can break up a ”family”...like mine.”
