My White Satin Bed

by Forsaken Redeemer   Nov 11, 2005

Took a penny from my pocket,
And threw it down the well,
Closed my eyes and made a wish,
Then watched it as it fell.
Walking home through the graveyard,
Feeling the whispers of the dead around me,
Treading carefully through the graves,
Moving, oh, so silently.
Thinking about my wish,
That one drop of hope,
Feel those Dead tighten their grips,
Beginning to softly choke.
Pushing them away
And staggering quickly on,
I'd thought I would be safe here,
Now I know I was wrong.
Remember my wish,
And I'll struggle to make it through,
Those words I whispered in my mind,
How I wish that they were true.
And so I run from those feelings,
Those souls which plague me,
I trip and stumble and tear my feet,
Desperately wishing that I could just be free.
I find my hole in the ground,
Find my white satin bed,
Climb in, remember my wish,
'How I wish I wasn't dead...'

The title hinted of the ending and I thought that the flow was good not choppy. The words fell together quite well. The ending..nicely done.
