If It Mattered

by psychedelic   Nov 12, 2005

Beyond all the screaming, accusing and crying
And past the hurting, backstabbing and lying

There were also some good times, outweighed by the bad
And I hate to admit, that it makes me quite sad

That we weren't strong enough to keep us together
That we failed to honour the words "best friends forever"

I'll miss the Friday night movies and dancing in the rain
Along with millions of memories, you flushed down the drain

The 2am phone calls and endless nights
Are lost to us for good due to stupid, pointless fights

And I know it's not entirely your fault
That our friendship came to a screeching halt

I will agree to take some of the blame
For the fact that things will never be the same

But you always acted like you didn't care
When you promised that you'd always be there

Our friendship to me, at one point felt true
And now all I can wonder, is if it mattered to you
