Letter from my soldier

Some of this poem is true and some is not so if you could please commit on it

I received the letter
you wrote me today
I'm really scared
to open it
I don't know
if I can face
what it has to say.

I finally read
your letter today
it never fails
how you can
find the good in every
bad situation
half way through
I read
"Our Headquarters Base
is under attack. Theres
bombs and guns going
off everywhere."
but you tell me everything
will be alright and
you'll be home soon
so we can make
love all night.
At the end of
the letter you wrote
"I promise I'll be safe
If you promise me you'll
be safe."
Then you signed
with all of my love.

I just finished reading
your letter today
when a knock came at the front door.
I opened it to find two men
They don't need to tell me I already know.

I just got back from
them burring you today
and I just have to ask
what happened to the promise you made
the promise that said you would be safe.
