And Behind Their Smiles..

by Tasha   Nov 13, 2005

Behind every smile theres a story
some of these stories are not meant to be told
and even though it hurts we smile
just to heal our weakened soul.

Let me read you a chapter
about an old man
his eyes seen so much
and look at his hands.

War after war he fought,
his eyes seen so much pain
his hands been through so much
yet he smiles, happiness he gains.

Theres this chapter not far off
about a mother you see
with a child at a young age
because she didn't think properly.

She could have went to school
instead she chose fun,
and yet she'll still smile
at her beautiful son.

Not to far ahead
let me read you chapter three
about a young girl
and her family.

Her mom ran away,
and her dad was left on his own
more people came into her life
yet she feels so alone.

Can you guess whats next?
I'm guessing you can
she smiles, even though shes hurting
because of her mom and her dad.

And of course i must tell you
of the lady whos seen
so many things,
that only you see in dreams.

At the age of ninety nine
she still has that smile
that she had when her and her lost husband
walked down the isle.

Read a little bit further
you can read the story of the girl
who could maybe have been
on top of the world.

She had the chance to be famous,
her singing was magic
but she hadn't have the money
this is what she calls tragic

But, of course she still smiles
just to know she had the chance
to fulfill her dreams
to sing and to dance.

Theres just one last story
in this book of their smiles
take a moment to listen
about this 5 year old child.

Everyday he goes to school,
not excited as most 5 year olds should be
because of those mean people
we now call bullies.

And he comes home with that smile
his mother adores
goes to his room
theres pain behind those doors.

He cries and he cries
and thinks maybe tomorrow
that the bully will stop
and with that he smiles.

So please do one last thing
for you and for me
smile real big
and then think of your story.
